TON - blockchain of the future and Metamask killer
As skeptical as we may be of the Telegram Open Network, or more specifically, its followers pushing blockchain among crypto-savvy people (hello Morgenstern), it's silly to ignore what's going on. Let's go in order.
First, TON recently overtook the market cap of Solana and confidently broke into the top 9 blockchains with more than $8.5 billion in capitalization. In addition, Toncoin has recently behaved much stronger than the market: people believe and buy, and this is important.
Secondly, in the USA, Pasha Durov and his plans for ICO TON were released one place at a time and obliged to return funds to investors. However, the SEC's ban was temporary and expired just recently — in the middle of this year. Obviously positive news, though not for the people of America.
Third, and most importantly, at the TOKEN2049 conference, TON presented many innovations (and gave away free $, you know) in the framework of integrating the Telegram messenger and the blockchain.
Just so you understand, Telegram currently has 800 million users worldwide, and TON has 2.5 million. According to the forecast, by 2028, the number of monthly users of the messenger will reach 1.5 billion people, and blockchain will reach 500 million, but not every month. Ambitious - yes, but these ambitions have a basis, consisting of the total integration of TON and Telegram.
In China, there is WeChat, a super application that combines a social network, a messenger, and financial services. As you understood, Vkontakte, Twitter (X), and Telegram are moving similarly. However, if some are a state dump, regulators will crush others, and Telegram has the most opportunities to turn all this into reality. At least there is a movement in this direction. They recently rolled out @wallet, a bot wallet that works and is managed directly from Telegram.
Imagine how easily ignorant people can get into the crypt with such a feature: you don't need to download anything, you don't need to remember any seed phrases, and you don't need to make a mistake when translating to the wrong 0xAddress, because everything is inside the TG. In a few years, all kinds of businesses will start charging through the TG wallet and that's it, the Metamask killer is ready.
